SCREAMFESTä TIMELINE

SCREAMFESTä was formed in 2001 by film producers Rachel Belofsky and Ross Martin in order to give filmmakers and writers in the horror/Sci-Fi genres a venue to have their work showcased to people in the industry. Right from the beginning, the attending distributors and producers expressed interest in distribution for many of the films. As film producers, both Rachel and Ross understood the amount of blood, sweat and tears that goes into producing professional films and the importance of finding distribution. And SCREAMFESTä strives to give back to fellow filmmakers. In 2001 and 2002 Rachel Belofsky worked as a sales agent at the AFM and the Cannes Market. In 2002 Ross Martin decided to return to his first love which is writing. Now in 2003 he has completed his screenplay and has begun shopping it around town. SCREAMFESTä wishes him all the best.
SCREAMFESTä 2001 took place at the infamous haunted Vogue Theatre located at 6675 Hollywood Blvd. in Hollywood. Winners received software from Movie Magic Screenwriter or Creative Planet's Movie Magic Budgeting & Scheduling. Dimension Films read 2001's winning screenplays and viewed the winning films. For more information on the formerly haunted Vogue, visit www.ispr.net. SCREAMFESTä 2002 took place at the Fairfax Laemmle Theatre. It was attended by veteran directors such as Wes Craven and William Friedkin.
