"ISPR Investigates:
Ghosts of Belgrave Hall" co-creators Dr.
Larry Montz and Daena Smoller,
were presented with the Best Horror Documentary Award at the Screamfest
L.A. Horror Film Festival Awards Dinner on October 20, 2002.
"Best Horror
Documentary" is a brand new category this year for the Screamfest
L.A. Horror Film Festival and we were thrilled to participate,"
stated Smoller. "It was amazing to be recognized in front of
so many talented Indy horror filmmakers, not to mention participating
in a film festival that attracted established greats like Wes Craven,
John Carl Buechler, William Friedkin and George Romero. I mean,
these guys are responsible for most of my all time favorite horror
movies - so to be involved, not to mention recognized, was nothing
less than incredible. And the support that these horror genre filmmakers,
directors and writers offer, is simply fabulous - it's just such
an honor."
The documentary,
"ISPR Investigates: Ghosts of Belgrave Hall - An Anatomy of
An Investigation", was the product of ISPR's scientific analysis
of the CCTV video that Belgrave Hall officials (U.K.) believed contained
two apparitions and the ensuing ISPR Team investigation of the property.
The documentary features parapsychologist
Dr. Larry Montz and current team investigators Derek Acorah, Shawn
Roop, Ron Kilgore and Daena Smoller. The sister documentary,
"ISPR Investigates:
Ghosts of England" previously won a Telly Award, enjoyed
a six month theatrical run on Hollywood Boulevard in 2001, and is
currently being distributed in several languages around the world
as well as utilized as a teaching tool in various classes at universities
like UCLA and USC.
"Now that
our first two documentaries have both won awards, Daena and I are
really motivated to complete our current and third documentary project,
"Hollywood's Most
Haunted 1901 - 2001: The Vogue Theatre", states Montz.
"The documentary focuses on the continuous four-year, scientific
paranormal field study of a single property;
the formerly haunted Vogue Theatre in Hollywood. People are
going to really get into this documentary - it's a film like none
others to date. It won't be as easy to imitate as the two "ISPR
Investigates:" documentaries. So it's a great project. We look
forward to completing it in time to enter it into Screamfest 2003."
