| Since its founding in
1972 the International Society for Paranormal Research or ISPR, has continually
impacted the science of Parapsychology. Dismissing the mindset and practices
of those in scientific and academic circles and associations of the early
1970s, founding Parapsychologist, Dr. Larry Montz, was the first field
Parapsychologist to take studies of Psi abilities (psychic abilities)
out of a controlled environment (lab) and create varying levels of clairvoyant
testing in the field. Montz was the first Parapsychologist to work professionally
in the field and to employ those with enhanced Psi abilities (clairvoyance,
clairaudience, clairgustus, Remote Viewing or RV, psychometry, energy
manipulation, physical mediumship, empathy, etc.) and create the 'Team'
concept combining both scientific and clairvoyant methodologies, leading
to the development of Enhanced Field Parapsychology or EFP. As a result,
the professional ISPR Team has maintained a proven 95% accuracy rate in
field investigations, both paranormal and criminal. In the early 1990's, a six-year ISPR Research Study of paranormal activities in the city of New Orleans and surrounding areas extending throughout the state of Louisiana, was Undertaken. Under the name of Hauntings Today, another ISPR designed first was created and implemented - ISPR Ghost Expeditions. For the general public worldwide, Ghost Expeditions provided the first ever paranormal event in which a person could choose to participate by allowing participants to garner first hand experience in actual and documented paranormal field research pertaining to ghosts and hauntings inside actual haunted properties. For the ISPR, Ghost Expeditions allowed the achievement of two primary objectives never before attempted prior or since by any individual or organization:
|
Ghost Expeditions garnered
the international attention of the mass media in print, radio and television
and established Montz as the leading authority in field Parapsychology
worldwide. Since 1997, ISPR's Ghost Expeditions with destinations in New
Orleans, Los Angeles and England, are annual prize packages for network
game shows like Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy!
and Hollywood Squares as well as the Grand Prize for national
and international promotions, from the foreign release of the X-Files
Movie to the Sony Pictures Haunted Halloween Sweepstakes.
Montz continuously provides interviews for publications from The
Wall Street Journal, Elle Magazine, Soap Opera
Digest and Buffy the Vampire Slayer Magazine and
on international television spanning from E! True Hollywood Story
to National Geographic Explorer to To Tell The Truth
as well as Cinematic Report (Japan) to The Big Breakfast
(England) to Premiere Impacto (Latin America). The extensive international multi-media coverage on Dr. Montz, the ISPR and Ghost Expeditions, is credited for the birth of literally millions of internet-based ghost clubs, ghost hunters and amateur ghost hunts, worldwide. Ghost Expeditions and the work of the ISPR, both entrenched in the Hollywood Entertainment Industry, have also been credited for the spawning inspiration for such television series as MTV's FEAR, World's Scariest Places, and The Others as well as Europe's smash hit, Most Haunted. After concluding the ISPR six year research study in New Orleans, ISPR withdrew the citywide respected and supported Ghost Expeditions from the French Quarter resulting in the immediate formation of over fifteen Big Easy ghost tours to fill the void, all operated by non-parapsychological experts from belly dancers to singing telegram strippers - all enjoying the haunted status made known internationally through media attention bestowed on the ISPR. In the late 1990's, the ISPR began offering a more sophisticated series of Ghost Expeditions in Los Angeles, utilizing the formerly |

on Hollywood Boulevard, with the exception of the continuing promotional
Ghost Expeditions implemented in various locations, each on a temporary
basis. In December of 2001, the ISPR concluded its four-year study of
the actively haunted Vogue Theatre and the ISPR Team subsequently cleared
the property of its seven documented resident entities. The entire process
was filmed. After assisting in the production of numerous haunted programs for Discovery Channel, History Channel, Travel Channel, TNN and several more including foreign television programming, Dr. Larry Montz and ISPR's Daena Smoller partnered in 1999 to became the first paranormal field experts to begin creating and producing documentaries. The International Society for Paranormal Research or ISPR became the first parapsychological organization with documentary producing credentials. The first two documentary efforts created and produced by Montz and Smoller, were the result of investigative work conducted for the British Government. The first, ISPR Investigates Ghosts of England, won a 1999 Telly Award and the second, ISPR Investigates Ghosts of Belgrave Hall won the 2002 Best Documentary Award at the Screamfest International Film Festival in Hollywood. Both documentaries can be found in several languages around the world and are used in an increasing number of college psychology courses taught at such respectable universities such as UCLA, USC and Edinbourgh University. In 2003, Montz and Smoller partnered with movie production house, Delfino Entertainment and Daurg Productions, a documentary production company. The joint effort created by Montz and Smoller, New Orleans Rich & Haunted, enjoyed it's foreign release at the Salento Film Festival in Italy in August 2004, and a domestic premiere in Hollywood at Universal City Walk in October 2004. In 2000, ISPR Investigates the Ghosts of New Orleans, authored by Montz and Smoller, was published and has enjoyed the status of a best-selling paranormal-themed book in Europe. Parapsychologist Dr. Larry Montz and the ISPR Team of professional field investigators, continues to provide parapsychological services to private clients and has a long list of high- |
profile clients including
author Anne Rice, The Comedy Store owner Mitzi Shore, Producer/Director
